Chris Wolfe has been in the antique business for over five decades and holds a deep-rooted appreciation for history and all of the items that come from it.  As founder and proprietor of Garden & Vintage Goods it has been Chris’s mission to share this with the generations.

Chris first became interested in antiques when he was ten, as he worked alongside his father, Harry Wolfe, to learn antique refinishing and refurbishing. He and his father were national wholesalers and refinishing professionals, frequenting local and national sales and auctions and became well-known in the antiques business across the country.

In 1984, Chris opened a 12,000 square foot facility in downtown Frederick, Maryland.  During this time he began importing treasures from the United Kingdom while continuing his relationships with sellers and buyers across the United States.  He is known for acquiring the most wonderful historical pieces as he seeks to preserve the history and magic of the past for future generations.  Over the decades he has grown his knowledge of antique and vintage items, their beginnings, uses, manufacturers, and the beauty of each piece to encyclopedic levels and is happy to share this knowledge with everyone.

In 2010, Chris found that the unique nature of tin and iron creations is another of his passions. He has added more and more of these beautiful pieces of art to his collection and readily offers this whimsy and magic to all.

One of a limited number of independent retail businesses to survive the dreaded pandemic, Chris is once again busy ensuring that these rare treasures and artwork can be enjoyed by people of all backgrounds and interests. Always ready for a new adventure, he has recently opened the Garden Fun Center on site in Hagerstown with Garden & Vintage Goods so that he may share the wonder and smiles this art brings to each of us.
